Pool Filter Repair
Pool filters can have a variety of issues ranging from leaky valves to pressure problems that must be resolved promptly to ensure clean water.
As summer kicks into full gear, it's time to change the pool's filter and vacuum it. During the winter months, your pool can accumulate a surprising amount of dirt and grime. This is a result of keeping the pool covered with a tarp and allowing it to collect buildup.
At Magnolia Pool & Spa, we have the expertise to get your pool up and running again for those hot summer days. No stress, just splash!

Functionality of a Pool Filter
Pumps and filters form part of a pool filtration system. Pool water is pulled from the skimmer(s), located on the wall of the pool, as well as the main drain(s), located near the bottom. A filter then removes debris, dirt, and bacteria from the water after it has been pumped through the pump. A return jet on the pool wall returns clean water to the pool after filtration through the plumbing system.
The pool filter's primary function is to remove debris from the pool so that the water stays clean and dirt-free. There are three kinds of pool filters:
-
Sand filter: Sand filters are simply tanks filled with sand. Water is evenly dispersed throughout the sand by slotted lateral pipes at the bottom.
-
Cartridge filter: Cartridge filters collect debris by folding big sheets of polyester cloth or paper accordion-style. A single cartridge may suffice for some of these filters, while multiple cartridges may be required for others.
-
Diatomaceous Earth (D.E.) filter: D.E. filters consist of eight to ten grids covered with diatomaceous earth powder, a fossil dust that traps debris while capturing water.

*This is a sample of a repair and equipment installation project that we completed. This customer had a beautifully refinished pool, pool deck, and screen enclosure, and the only thing left was to re-plumb and update the outdated 4-pump system that limited efficient water flow and ease of operation.
